do words ending in 'x' have an apostrophe (if possessive)?

two people i work with almost got into fisticuffs over this at our weekly meeting; one claiming that names (such as alex or max or fox) have an apostrophe 's,' the other thinking that it would be the name sans the 's'

anyone know?

i think the ones that end in S just end in s' like "chris' frisbee"

but i've never heard about the x doing the same thing.

i think alex's frisbee looks normal to me.
