all i did is ask you what the officers should have done. it doesn't have anything to do with someone "being treated humanely". as a police officer you have a job to protect yourself and others while disarming the suspect or diffusing the situation. that's what the taser was designed to do. if shocking someone with a taser doesn't make them stop flailing knives around then what makes you think spraying them with water would make any difference? what if they did that and the lady drowned from inhaling the water? you're looking at it to easily from a media-shocked perspective and not thinking about the situation.

you've got someone swinging knives at you, what do you do to ensure you quickly take the person down while not getting hurt yourself, or allowing the person to hurt themselves or anyone else?
