that or they just need to quit living in the dark ages and allow the def capn a radio in his helmet. have the NFL turn it off during the plays or whatever if they must but i think that's the best way to go.

I was watching the NFL Network earlier and they had the head of NFL officials on there talking about it. The reason they allow it on offense is because it's easy to stick a radio in the helmet of a QB. There is only one QB on the field at a time, so they stick it in 3 helmets and only one is on the field at a time. On defense it makes it more difficult because if they put it in the MLB's helmet then they have plays where the MLB would come out for a few plays, or maybe in a 3-4 they would have 2 MLB's in and for some reason they don't want more than one radio on the field at the same time (because people like the Pats would exploit it and find a way to put radios in every helmet). It's something they're going to revisit in the offseason and I'm sure we'll see next year.
