Childfree Options

So my friend joined this facebook group called Childfree. I was curious as to what it is, so I looked it up on wikipedia. I know that wikipedia is not exactly an accurate source, but I got a gist of what it is. Bascially childfree differs from childless in that for people who are childless wish to have child(ren), but can't have it for whatever reason it may be. Childfree is an active choice of not having child(ren) and never wanting it ever. And they listed a few reasons why people choose to be childfree, some of which includes not liking kids, having a traumatic childhood, not like how people change after they have kids, because of work, the world is over populated, etc. The only one I can understand is the occupation one, but then I feel like you still want kids, but can't have it because of your career. I'm trying to keep an open minded about it, but most of the reasons people have listed seem rather selfish, and borderline stupid. But I guess not liking kids is as good as any reason for not having kids. I don't know, anyone here who wish to be childfree or know anyone is?

statistically people with bad childhoods have kids with bad childhoods but a lot of other factors are included in that. i can understand someone who was raped and abused by a parent not wanting to have kids. thats probably a good thing if they arent "healed" as much as they can be.

itd be a terrible thing for someone who doesnt want kids to have kids. thats why america has so many unwanted and abused children

lots of people i semi know talk about not wanting kids and mostly its because these people are extremely immature and not at a stable point in their life. reasons like sex decreases after having kids (can be totally opposite as the woman is probably more likely to want it) and having a tether that would keep you back from moving whenever you want or having to come home... ever

some people value career goals more than family. i cant fault them for that

i dont see anything wrong w/adoption at all, i just personally wouldn't want to.
