I think you're underestimating the majority of computer users. Pretty much anyone under the age of 25 knows how to D/L pirated games and use no-CD cracks. The type of people these games are targeted at is the same exact crowd that knows everything there is to know about pirating.

Perhaps maybe the chances of a person knowing someone who could do it is much higher than it used to be, but you can't possibly believe that if you went into some college dorm right now, you could get even 10% of the people to successfully download and play a bootleg version of Bioshock, or some other relatively new game w/copy protection. But the number that could take their buddy's legit version and copy it if there were no protection would be way higher. |
