The prison population must be a lot bigger than you think. i was talking about the prison that i work at in texas . . . i mean they grow a few crops but all the texas prisons combined could not produce enough for one city the size of lubbock. only the trustees are even allowed outside and you pretty much have to have a completely clean record from the time that you enter the prison to be a trustee, which is obviously a small minority. the only way to increase this "workforce" would be to lower the requirement for such privileges, which would most likely be more complicated and harmful in the long term. |
