cupcake and others..., military lingo Options

so, i'm somewhat familiar with military officer insignia, considerably less with the names of enlisted ranks, but was just wondering why certain levels are the same or different among the different branches.

for example (according to wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Lieutenant), a second lieutenant in the air force/army/marines is the equivalent of an ensign in the navy, but would you refer to this naval officer as "ensign" or "lieutenant"?

also, a naval captain is quite a few levels higher than an air force/army/marines captain; would this be for any particular reason, or is that just the way it is?



i'm only asking because i am working heavily with usaa members from every branch; probably 95% of what i've experienced so far in the training has been current or former military.

do you live off huebner? a bunch of the people i work with go to the flying saucer a lot after work.

i'm in this shithole warren inn at callaghan and fredericksburg.

the building is ridiculous. it's like a gigantic mall, just replace all the stores with a sea of cubicles. there are escalators and random seating areas with plants and trees everywhere. 5 cafeterias, several starbucks, post office (has its own zip code), a herd of deer, two lakes, softball/basketball/tennis, running trails, little theatre and museum, etc, etc...

haha yeah, from what i understand, though, a lot of members complain about the rates and actually have auto with other companies. but it's regional and driver-specific, so yeah.

lol yeah i seen the deer the other day through the fence.

And yeah i live at fredricksburg and gus eckert (right next to huebner). And i've been known to go to the saucer many a times. Problem is that the beer is so expensive compared to other places...
