When I log into the remote desktop on my windows xp box that's hooked up to this monitor it logs the current user out and the monitor displays the login screen. Is there anyway to have that monitor display what's going on when I'm logged in? Once I setup MCE on it and hook it up to a tv I want to be able to control it from a laptop and not necessarily with a remote.

so you're going to view the content on both the laptop and the TV at the same time? I'm still not really understanding.

I'm using VNC for it and it works well. Here's what I'm doing so I can give you the grand scheme of things. I'm hooking a bunch of X10 devices up to this server/media center. It'll give me automated lights and whatnot that can be controlled/programmed from the server/media center. On top of that it'll be hooked up to a tv so we can watch movies that we have on our hard drives. So I was looking for something that I can use to connect to that computer and run programs on it and whatnot. It's not so much the laptop is a remote but I just wanted to make it so I can control everything on that computer from my laptop. A side effect of that is I wanted to be able to start a movie from my laptop that'll run on the tv. If it's still not clear I pretty much wanted to do what VNC does
