No day but today... Group: Members Posts: 773 Joined: 22-February 06 Member No.: 5 |
Ok this problem started yesterday and I have no idea what to do.
Yesterday afternoon when I signed into AIM, none of my buddies were online. None. Not even myself (which I keep on my list specifically for when things like this happen.) Every few minutes it would pop up the window that says it lost connection and I have 3 minutes to reconnect. A few seconds later, I would sign back in, still without a buddy list. I thought maybe it had to do with my wireless Internet connection, so I disconnected and reconnected. Still nothing. Then I thought maybe once my computer rebooted it would be fixed. So I went to bed last night and turned off the laptop. Today, same thing. No one on my buddy list. So I sign out of my current sn and sign in with an old one. Oh look, all my buddies are online. Weird. I sign back into my current sn and once again, nothing. Today, I've exhausted my options. Not only did I completely uninstall my wireless card and change to an ethernet cable, but I unistalled my AIM and reinstalled the newest version, as found on download.com, because apparently I can't connect to aim.com for some strange reason. I had to get on Jason's computer to go to aim.com to change my password, thinking someone had somehow gotten into my account. Even with the new password, still nothing. BTW, the new version I have sucks. I talked to a friend tonight who sent me to www.meebo.com which lets you sign in to multiple accounts at once. I can get on the current sn there just fine. But I can't get on to aim.com and I can't see anyone on my buddy list using my current sn on any version of AIM. Does anyone have any ideas what could have happened, if I caused it, and how to remedy it? I really don't want to have to go back to using Trillion, and I don't want to change my AIM sn from the current one. -------------------- Forget regret

Aim 4.8 is still the best version of AIM out there.
