Ok, not so much the majority of Democrats because they didn't vote for the bills, but the Democratic leadership needs to be shot for backing down on this. -------------------- Holy shit, pebkac, you're awesome! The war is a lose-lose situation at this point. We stay, we lose; we leave, we lose. Might as well save our money and keep troops out of harm's way. Congress controls the money, but little else concerning the war at this point. Defunding the war is their only option for forcing us out of Iraq, and it's not like that goes into effect immediately, leaving our troops stranded or any BS like that.

We can't force them to have a nice, happy, rainbows and kittens democracy like we want them to have. They have to work things out for themselves. Being there keeps our occupation in their faces and aggravates those who want us to leave, spurring more violence. Meanwhile, we're dumping money and manpower into being there, primarily for the purpose of squelching violence that is halfway provoked by us being there in the first place (the other half being fighting between sunnis and shites because they're violent little bitches like that). And "precious democrats"? You really need to get a better idea of who has what political leanings on this forum. I tend to vote about half-and-half Republican/Democrat, excepting a few independents here and there. My hands-down favorite candidate in the primaries right now is a Republican; unfortunately, he doesn't have a chance in hell of becoming their nominee. -------------------- |
