I am trying to help my girlfriend with a problem she is having but I don't use external drives the way she does (she's using the auto-update sync features) so I can't figure out what's wrong.
She wants to see the files on the drive and possibly restore some, as well as change the settings as to what gets updated, but there is no admin tool or anything. The WD website is vague. Any ideas? -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

i haven't used external HDs much, but have a 4GB USB keychain thing that has software built in. it's some hidden file .exe that you run. it allows you to turn on/off the built-in control software. i.e. either make it "smart" and use all the built-in features, or just make it a dumb USB storage device. i think if you remove that file you have to re-download it from the manufacturer.
