The severe beating of a student at L'Anse Creuse Middle School East has the boy's parents demanding punishment for a teacher they say encouraged the attack.

Six students have been punished for the beating, which left the boy with contusions and a concussion. But his parents want a teacher to answer for these words they say she uttered in a classroom full of students:

"If you're going to fight, just do it right now and I'll walk away and come back when it's done. ... Just knock his teeth out and be done with it."

A spokeswoman for the L'Anse Creuse schools tells Action News the teacher admits to saying, "If you're going to fight just do it right now." But the spokeswoman says the statement was made in "frustration" and was "not made to encourage any fighting."
