Has anyone heard about this razzle dazzle scheme going on to defund the war?

I am trying to find an article but was reading and listening this morning to a bill that is going through right now that was supposed to be a pork cutting bill but as people are looking at it more it defunds the war.

I am still looking for details but it sounds like they are doing some sleight of hand movements to tie the hands of the executive branch. Pretty troubling stuff.

what's funny is the democrats have been crying about this being "another vietnam" and crap. well if they're really going to do this, it's they who will be turning it into "another vietnam".

it's sad, it's like they're so adamant about bringing the troops home before their job is done, that they're willing to slit their throats to do it.

No, that would be why they're cutting funding. The same thing happened in vietnam that is happening now. The first couple years were low key then johnson sent in a surge of troops to win and that didn't work. You can compare quotes between Johnson and Bush and they're almost exactly the same.

Cutting the budget is the only thing that congress can do to stop the war because that's the only power they have. They can't pull troops out or anything like that, the only thing congress controls is the budget.

They do have the ability to repeal the resolution they passed authorizing Bush to send troops to Iraq.
