QUOTE Steve Fambro may have tinkered his way into the solution. His Aptera, which he designed in his garage in Carlsbad, California, is a three-wheeled, bullet-shaped two-seater that minimizes drag and weighs only 850 pounds (the Toyota Prius weighs 2,890 pounds). He cut bulk by using a carbon composite frame, a race-inspired solution that should help with crash absorption. mighty effin light compared to the toyota tic tac -------------------- |

spex, when you say plug in, do you say that you have to externally charge the batteries and the motor will not keep up?

spex, when you say plug in, do you say that you have to externally charge the batteries and the motor will not keep up? Yeah. You basically just plug 'em in to your garage outlet at night. I haven't looked into specifics on them, but I presume they switch over to primarily gas-power (with some electric, like a regular hybrid) when the battery bank charge is getting low. -------------------- |
