I really want to brew my own beer. Is there anywhere in Lubbock where you can buy supplies to do so. If not in Lubbock how about Amarillo or Midland? I'm not driving to Dallas.

Mr. Beer sucks, and along with any sort of kit that you can pick up at a home furnishing store that doesn't require any more than mixing a few packages together with water, and drinkable in about a week.
Lubbock used to have one in the depot(which was where I started brewing), but its been closed. The local homebrew club, the Ale-ian Society decided to take over and open one up to keep brewing alive in Lubbock. It was at 34th and Eljin, and closed down after 6 months due to lack of business. You're probably SOL with Midland, and definitely not Amarillo, because there were a few guys from Amarillo that drove down to Lubbock to buy homebrew supplies. I've been to a couple in the Dallas area, and the two of about 5 that I visited were pretty damn sad, ie, I wouldn't even considering buying ingredients due to the lack of freshness and turnover. The best bet is buying online. The most popular sites are www.morebeer.com and www.austinhomebrew.com. I've ordered from both and they are both good. Austin Homebrew is in Austin, TX, so you can expect way faster shipping, due to the proximity. I like MoreBeer because they have free shipping on most items and make the minumum order amount, but its obviously more expensive than going to a B&M. Then AustinHomebrew used to offer free shipping, but high gasoline prices killed that.
