So last night when I opened my laptop, the right hinge broke. Now I have to compute with one hand while the other holds the screen up so it doesn't fall backwards. Looking at it, it appears as though something is actually broken, so it's not like I can just snap it back into place.

Is this something that I can fix/replace? I don't want to take it somewhere if there's nothing that can be done.

I don't have the money for a new one right now and don't really want to pay it even if I did because the hard drive and everything about it is working except for the one hinge. Is there such a place that I can buy the shell of the computer and then just insert my hard drive?

naw you can't really buy the case for a notebook. there are home built notebooks, but I'm assuming you have a dell or HP or something, and they're proprietary. it may be a fairly common thing and they can repair it, but kinda doubtful (at least it wouldn't be cheap). only thing I could tell you on the cheap is get ya a string smile.gif
