Revealed: Israel plans nuclear strike on Iran

ISRAEL has drawn up secret plans to destroy Iran’s uranium enrichment facilities with tactical nuclear weapons.
Two Israeli air force squadrons are training to blow up an Iranian facility using low-yield nuclear “bunker-busters”, according to several Israeli military sources.
The attack would be the first with nuclear weapons since 1945, when the United States dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Israeli weapons would each have a force equivalent to one-fifteenth of the Hiroshima bomb.
Under the plans, conventional laser-guided bombs would open “tunnels” into the targets. “Mini-nukes” would then immediately be fired into a plant at Natanz, exploding deep underground to reduce the risk of radioactive fallout.
“As soon as the green light is given, it will be one mission, one strike and the Iranian nuclear project will be demolished,” said one of the sources.

Iran came out strongly in response to a report on Sunday that Israel planned to attack Teheran's nuclear sites, declaring that any attack would be met with a response and that "anyone who attacks will regret their actions very quickly."

Anyways, to add more to the discussion...

The reason that the Israel/Iran dynamic is so much more unstable than the India/Pakistan dynamic even though they are so similar - two bitter enemies, both nuclear capable, difference of religion, colonialism - is because the Middle East has not progressed much at all since 1948. There has been no sweeping social movement to empower women, no grassroots effort to throw off the yoke of the autocratic governments and no drastic attempt to improve the infrastructure or education system.

This is quite a shame, really, because the Middle East was much more socially and intellectually advanced than Europe for perhaps the first thousand years or so after the purported death of Jesus Christ. While the Catholic church was oppressing the advancement and spread of knowledge, their Muslim counterparts were encouraging it.

I guess the Islamic leaders are just making up for lost time.

There are two parts to my thought on this issue. One part of me is intellectually honest enough to recognize that the United States and the United Kingdom should shoulder some (if not a lot) of the blame for the current problems in the Middle East. The second part of me doesn't see this problem getting any better in my lifetime - quite the opposite in fact - and wouldn't mind (like I said earlier) Israel dealing with it on its own.
