texas isn't as republican as most think...i think.
i mean, we had a democrat governor just before Bush (Richards), and a pretty good chunk is liberal (Austin, along the border, DFW/Houston, etc.) texas used to be a totally blue state back in the day. even during the LBJ election Texas went democrat, probably bc he was a dem....which is why i think we only went republican the past couple times was since Bush was our governor. put it a candidate who's not from texas and it'll be a lot closer. -------------------- ![]() |

Last election, there were comments that the race in Texas was closer than expected. I dont know if thats true. All I know is that Bush still won by a majority. I think that Fort Worth is primarily republican but I could be wrong. Im pretty sure that the Texas vote will still go republican. I refuse to vote again until they do away with the electoral college. I have major problems with that including the fact that the congressmen can place a different presidential vote than what their state votes for. In other words, we can vote Democratic, but the representatives can still place the vote as Republican. I dont think this has ever happened, but the possibility is still there. Additionally, our votes count a hell of a lot less under the electoral college. |
