"The New Jersey legislature is considering a bill that would require operators of public forums to collect users' legal names and addresses, and effectively disallow anonymous speech on online forums. This raises some serious issues, such as to what extent local and state governments can go in enacting and enforcing Internet legislation."

i read the bill earlier today, it doesn't just apply to forums, it applies to the internet as a whole. the stupidest thing is, it essentially allows anyone who gets mad at you to have your NAME AND ADDRESS. you piss someone off in WOW? they show up at your door with a hacksaw.

this is by far one of the STUPIDEST bills ever proposed, and i almost hope it gets passed just to show people how far removed the government is from anything remotely technological.

seriously, just typing this whole thing pissed me off.
