you can go to neartown (montrose westheimer) and look at the shops, book stores, cool eccletic stuff and thats just a few blocks away from the musuem district. id specifically recomend to check out the Menil collection, rothko chapel, and the byzantine fresco chapel museum. they are all right together on the same block.
The rice village area and rice university arent that much further from midtown. in the rice village shopping area theres an Italian market, cafe, restaurant called D'amico's. its really good. rice village area and downtown at night is really pretty also. stay around that area for the bar life. i forget the name of the really nice movie theater thats in that area -------------------- Little monkeys making money
