I got to fly a freakin' airplane this weekend! Options

This was soooooooooooooo cool!

I went to California to visit my girlfriend's grandparents and family and whatnot, and her grandpa is an avid pilot who owns a couple of planes and stuff. Anyways, we went to eat lunch with them and he and I got to talking planes since I'm taking a basic aerodynamics class this semester .... Anyways, after a little while he asks me "Hey, if it's not too crowded do you wanna go up and fly around the pattern today?" .... I was basically like so he took me up in his little 4-seater Piper Cherokee 160 ...

Anyways, *TOTALLY* different sensation than flying on an airliner or commercial aircraft.....I was LESS scared to be flying in this thing by FAR.

Anyways, after a little while he looks at me and goes "here take the controls" ... and I'm like :wtf: seriously? He nods..

So I take the controls and he's giving me instructions on what to do, how to make a turn, how to climb, and all this stuff....it was SOOOOOOOOOOO fucking cool! I was really amazed at how it flew .... It was a completley different thing to take a class and be able to do all these calculations about how an airplane is supposed to fly then to actually go fly it and see how close you were....It wasn't that sensitive turning, but just a slight nudge forward or backwards and you could throw yourself out of your seat pretty easily .... very sensitive to vertical control movements...

I'm so going to be the coolest kid in my aero class now cuz I can actually claim I actually flew a plane
