1. He definitely went too far. You can't be in a public forum like that and lose it, no matter what the situation is. Good comedians deal with hecklers in their own way... they ignore them, or make jokes about them which ultimately backfire the heckles and make the rest of the crowd laugh and the hecklers look stupid.

2. The word "nigger" has just as many contexts as any other word. If you use it when you're mad at a black person, in general it's a derogatory context. If you use it as slang then it's a harmless context. In today's society I'd say the latter is way more common. If I call my friend a bitch, that's one thing. If I call some lady I don't know a bitch, that's another thing. If a black person nowadays hears someone else using the word as slang towards their friend and gets upset about it, they're too damn sensitive.

For Kramer's one outburst, there are millions of other times in comedy where the word nigger was used with no repercussion and to probably a lot of laughter.

3. "cracker" is nowhere near as bad as "nigger" when used in the derogatory sense.

4. anyone who brings up slavery is a fucking idiot. there's not a black person alive today who's parent, grandparent, and probably great grandparent who was ever a slave. same thing with white people and slave owners. those black guys that heckled kramer grew up just like i did, under the same rights as me. i'm no history buff but i'm sure if you went back far enough in history you could find just about any race that's wronged another. no one seems to bitch about it and dwell on it as much as black people though.
