myspace phishing scams? Options

why the hell would you want access to someone's myspace account? i can understand paypal since you can actually profit from it, but mtyspace? this country sucks


saw this on my friends bulletin thing and i didn't think he'd write something like that


then i click and it asks me to sign in, even though i was already signed in

The main point is that once you have access to someone's myspace, you can use the bulletin feature to send spam for porn or the latest scam-of-the-day. Also, most people end up using the same password for their email that they do for their myspace, so not only does a phisher now have your myspace, they also have your email. And a crafty phisher would probably try the same user ID at the various popular free emails sites, cause you never know how many jackpots you're gonna hit. The more accounts you have access to, the more contacts you have to spam/phish. And spam/phishing in far more likely to succeed if it comes from someone the recipient knows.

And since far too many people don't know better than to fall for phising/spam, it's a profitable. Since it's all email/internet based, you're spending mere cents to contact thousands of persons. It just takes one moron to buy into whatever your scam is to make a profit... And while we're on the subject of morons on the internet, why is it everytime I get a friends request from some an obvious pornsite related myspace profile, they have hundreds of friends. How can people be so fucking retarded that they actually add these people to their list... and then post comments on their page.
