While talking to a guy at work, somehow the topic got onto OSX for x86, and he mentioned he has the 10.4.8 version (SSE3 only) with the security check for that apple hardware piece disabled. He just brought me the DVD a few mins ago, so I'll give it a shot some time in the next couple days and let you guys know how well it works. I don't mind reformatting several times in the past couple months considering I'm beta testing vista. Oh and he says it's supposed to work on AMDs too. If it works I'll figure out some way to get it to anyone else on here who wants it.

ps if you don't have the SSE3 my coworker says he has the 10.4.6 also.

ahh ok

already went back to windows xp... it was gonna drive me nuts if i couldn't get my sound to work. (not apple's fault or anything, all the drivers were 3rd party hack jobs).

a couple of things I liked in the short time I tried it:

reads NTFS drives (i have two drives in the machine, one fast 150GB Raptor for boot, and a 300GB for storage & backup)

built-in ability to burn a CD ISO (heh I found it kind of ironic though, bc I used it to burn a winxp sp2 CD so I could go back to windows wink.gif

I may try it again some time if I see that they have my sound card drivers, but I'm back on XP. tired of messin with non-production OSs for now.
