I just got a phone call from cingular saying that my account will be terminated in 35 days because over 50% of my phone calls are off network. I have a nationwide, no roaming plan. I travel a lot, plus my hometown isn't on the cingular network. But since I had the nationwide no roaming I didn't think that would be a problem.

Now they are telling me they will terminate my contract AND I have to pay the early-termination fee.

Can they do this or am I getting screwed?

Interesting.. I was thinking about going to Cingular, but now that I'm out in a place that only gets digital roaming signals, it looks like it may not be a good idea. I guess they lose money if you're on roaming all the time.
