ok ok please hear me out...

if you could have any job in the world, and make a comfortable living (say 75-100 grand), what would it be?

you can't say "sitting on my ass playing halo" as that isn't a job, unless I guess you were doing it as a tester for a software company.

I mean a real job. I watched American Beauty for the first time since it was in the theaters and thought it was interesting that once he had his money (1yr salary from his Ad job), the job he chose to do was flipping burgers...yet he was stoked on it.

what would you do?

When you say design video games, do you mean write code for game engines, be an artist, or just conceptually come up with games then have other people do all the work?
