I've heard of some high expectations from nearing grads and was wondering what kind of starting pay you expect to make right out of college.
Also, what is the absolute minimal salary you would accept and what kind of industry do you want work in? -------------------- ![]() |

If you are harping way too much about salary, moving up to the top, and all this shit
As far as I'm concerned you've already missed out totally. Nothing wrong with wanting to have more money so that you can have a more comfortable life, for the right reasons. Who fucking cares how much you spent at Eurway with that comission check ? If you are willing to let your job, where you are making other people more money, consume your life, then they just bought you. Ew. -------------------- QUOTE (Lance) now we have some dude from argentina wondering how to fuck dogmeat |

If you are willing to let your job, where you are making other people more money, consume your life, then they just bought you. Ew. I think the bottom line is you need to decide how well off you want to be. For %99 of the people on this planet, being well-off comes from putting in hard work and overtime. That's the only way to do it. There are very very very very very very very very very very very few jobs out there you're gonna make 6 figures plus only working a typical 40 hour work week. I've looked long and hard for these jobs, and they are VERY rare. Just because you know somebody's cousin's brother's former room mate who maybe works 40 hours a week and makes 150 grand a year doesn't mean you are, can, or ever will. The people who can work a 40 hour week and make a shitload of money are lucky as hell, period. If you do decide you want to be well off, you stand a lot better shot of working your ass off and learning as much as you can about the business you're in so you're capable of moving up in this business than you do "getting lucky" and finding some cushy ass job that pays a shitload. It doesn't matter what industry this is, even if you're a stock broker or a plumber. The other thing is, if somone lets their job "consume" their life, that was their decision. I don't see how it means they've been bought. fact, I think you'll probably find that the people who DO put that much time into work are ENJOYING what they're doing. Nobody is forcing them into slave labor, so why the hell would they be doing this if they didn't want to? It's a balancing act any way you look at it ... there are those who are truly lucky, and if they've gotten themselves into a position they don't have to work a whole hell of a lot to make a lot of money, more power to them, but that's just not the reality for the vast majority of us. I mean sooner or later most people are gonna have to balance work with family time, and personal time, whatever....there just aren't enough hours in the day any way you look at it I dunno....Personally I don't want to be working 70-80 hour weeks my whole life, but I know that if I ever wanna get close to where I wanna be in life, I'm going to have to put that much time in early on in the hopes of later not having to ... I dunno. Might as well work hard while you're young and don't get tired as easy cuz it just gets harder the older you get I think the bottom line is you need to decide how well off you want to be.
