So I was reading this article here ( http://edition.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/10/14...s.ap/index.html ) about the first openly gay congressman to die...and check this part out:
QUOTE
Studds, a liberal Democrat who spent more than 20 years in Congress, was censured by the House in the 1980s for having sex with a 17-year-old male page. He was re-elected for several more terms.

WTF?!

Sigh... the media memory hole again.

1) Foley was not forced to resign either. He did so voluntarily. The House leadership has said they played no role in the decision. Foley could have very easily been re-elected as well.

2) That same year, a Republican was also caught and censured for having sex with a 17 year old intern. He was not forced to resign or expelled either.

They played no role in the decision...but vowed to expel anyone from Congress withholding any information about the case if he didn't resign?? If he didn't resign you KNOW he'd be out. No way he would've been re-elected man. Especially as a Rep.
