HELP, Did I just get fucked? Options

So I just came home about 30 minutes ago and almost 5 minutes later a chick knocks on my door explaining how she is trying to be a public speaker and wants to go to Australia. Immediately I start thinking this has SCAM written all over it but she introduces herself as I tell her my name (just first name).

She proceeds to try and sell me the magazines and shows me a brochure. I was like, well fuck I'm not interested and have a nice night....then she says well I can sell you Sporting News for $90.80 for 60 issues. I tell her no, have a nice night.

She proceeds to try and sell me the magazine and I close the fucking door in her face.

Am I fucked now? She has my address and name and possibly has "put me down" for some magazines......

She does not have my Credit Card Number or SSN so how the hell is she going to scam me on this?

Just watching my back....

I've delt with these people before, around this time last year too.

It's a group of 'kids' who joined up with this somewhat sales group, they prefer no experiance, you hop on a bus with some personal belongings and travel cross country selling magazines and learning the ins and outs of sales.

It's like militarized door-to-door salesmanship. They sell magazines and most of the time they're absurdly good at it. Me and Yasser sat down and talked to one of the guys who did it when he made his rounds past our aprtment. He appeared to be on meth and/or severly beaten, definitely looked like he had taken a harsh lesson or two as one would expect from ditching everything.

The good thing about the program is all this running around, living out of a bus with a bunch of other 'kids' essentially homeless and being lashed into magazine sales is that once you finally stop you leave with a fuck ton of money. The guy we talked to said he had been doing it for about a year and had hit the 60k mark, he was gonna stay for a full 200k so he could start an audio shop where he was from. Rather touching.

Don't worry. they run a more-or-less legit business but it definitely smells of desperation. Her exhibitions were probably a contest they had amongst themselves. part of the regimentation is that the winner of these contests gets a chunk of everyone else's cut, while the losers make less than they expected.

The world is a pretty vast place.
