Cease fire in Lebanon Options

(Jerusalem-AP) August 13, 2006 - Hours before a Mideast cease-fire is to take hold, questions are already emerging about whether the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah will stop.

A critical Lebanese Cabinet meeting to discuss implementation of the UN resolution has been postponed - which could delay deployment of Lebanese army troops to south Lebanon. Published reports suggest the Lebanese ministers are sharply divided over how to disarm Hezbollah.

The postponement was almost immediately followed by more Israeli missile attacks.

At least 23 missiles pounded south Beirut Sunday, killing at least 15 people. About 20 of them hit during a two-minute period as the Israeli Cabinet was endorsing the UN cease-fire.

An Associated Press photographer saw the body of a one child being carried from the debris.

Meanwhile, Israel's army says Hezbollah fired more than 250 rockets into northern Israel Sunday. That's the most since fighting began more than a month ago.

One of the rockets hit a house, killing one person and wounding two others. At least five other people were hurt in attacks throughout northern Israel.
