If i had one that would work, i probably would not still be an undergrad.  People need to stop thinking that Lebanon is capable of defending itself from Hezbullah.  The "enemy of my enemy is my friend" applies here, anyone who speaks out against hezbullah would be in support of Isreal/USA ... you get stoned by a mob.  Even if they dont like Hezbullah, they cannot speak out against them, as a government or on the streets.  Isreal is doing what Lebanon cannot do itself ... it just happens to be on Lebanese soil and that is the only part they dont like.  There is no way to move the front without an invasion force.


The only thing that would work is occupation, worked wonders for Japan, but no american government would go for it.

This is the way I see things: Israel (the government) has a duty to her people to protect them. The radicalist group Hezbollah wants to demolish Israel and exterminate the Jews...that being one of their main goals. Furthermore, the leader of Iran has similar goals to that of Hezbollah and supports Hezbollah. This creates a very large problem for Israel... and the world. Israel is protecting her future by taking care of it now. There are most certainly steps that Lebanon could take in order to help this situation if her government really cared. Instead, many of her citizens supports Hezbollah with chants of "God destroy Israel", "Power to Hezbollah", "Death to all Jews". Yes, Israel could certainly be more careful with her guided missiles, ensuring that they hit the intended target instead of an apartment complex; but there is a cost of doing "business".
