Flat-rate tuition Options

I didn't read the article carefully enough, but does anyone know if that applies to graduate students? While I'm done with math grad, I still have to take courses for certification if I decide to teach.

What was the flat rate for the summer? I might want to take 8 hours of physics, but not sure on that just yet.

They should have set the flat rate at 12 or 13hours, not 15. Many other universities have it at 12-13 hours with no problems...Tech is just greedy.

Do you not see how the university of tech's size would quickly run out of money if they set it at 12?

With the number of college students interested and qualified of attending institutions of higher learning growing as it is, in 2010 there would need to be at least 10 "flagship sized" (45-50k+ undergrads) universities in Texas alone to meet the demand.

To help try to minimize the stress, universities are starting to adopt the flat-rate tuition plan not only as a way to make more money to expand the universities facilities (a lot more people are taking less than 15 hours/semester these days as opposed to 10/20/30 years ago), but also try and give students incentive to take more hours and thus graduate a little bit earlier.


As a jr. EE student, 18 hour/semesters arent very practical, but i still understand why flat-rate tuition is being adopted across the state.
