Some guy sneaks into wiretapping equipment manufacturers’ conference:
http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0,71022-0.html FYI: CALEA stands for Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act, a law passed back in 1994 that requires telephony manufacturers and telecom carriers to provide methods for law enforcement to wiretap phone calls. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communication...Enforcement_Act I see the effects of CALEA firsthand since I work for a telecom company. All the VOIP switches we sell to carriers include easy wiretapping access for law enforcement. It's interesting to see how easy it is to wiretap someone's phone. |
