First off, that article is framed in a very anti-decision way.
How do you know it actually "scaled back protections for whistle blowers"? From reading that article all I can see that the court said is that employers have the right to deem what an employee does with their "speech" on company time and property as valid or no t... QUOTE Exposing government misconduct is important, Justice Anthony M. Kennedy wrote for the majority. "We reject, however, the notion that the First Amendment shields from discipline the expressions employees make pursuant to their professional duties," Kennedy said. When you relax these protections you run the risk of having employess "blow the race whistle" on everything, to employees who don't have a fucking clue what they're doing "blowing the whistle" on non-existant crimes, etc ... I don't see where at all this article goes into any of this but briefly, the article is VERY slanted towards an anti-Bush/Alito/Conseravative Majority POV... Again I fail to see how this article isn't slanted to the left .... -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!
