the "totally new" file system is not the "totally new" filesystem it was originally supposed to be. WinFS is essentially NTFS with a sql database, or something to that effect. Not much more special than what google desktop does, not to mention apple did this last year.

no it's not winfs, and i didnt say it was either. it is a totally new file system for windows though. it's not NTFS. and what does google desktop have to do with anything? you're trying to tell me windows xp = windows vista.

The new shell interface (monad) is available (already) for XP; i already wrote that. You lose there too.

i guess you misunderstood what i meant by shell. i wasnt talking about a command prompt i was talking about the aero gui.

which ones? show me where I can download and run winfx APIs on windows xp (which uses the win32 api). even if you could run them they don't run natively it'd be just some developer simulated tool.

i never said they're new, or that no one else has done anything similar. you said windows xp is more or less the same as vista and I'd have to differ with ya on that. the core parts of the OS are all completely different/updated.
