My brother spilled beer on his laptop last night and now the shift, even though the keys feel normal, is permanently on. The arrow keys also do not work. Obviously this wouldn't be covered by the service plan he has on it or the manufacturer's warranty since it was liquid being spilled. Does anybody know how to clean the keyboard? He said he has a shitload of papers due in the next couple of weeks, so he needs to get it fixed.

Laptops are such a pain in the ass to work on it's not even funny. I had to take my old Compaq from 1999 apart three separate times, and it took me HOURS to get it all done and dear god you gotta be careful because that shit is easy to break.

I am seriously amazed at the manufacturing technology used to make laptops and complex mechanical/electronic devices as such ...
