[14:53] jm_87109: as you ponder universal truths and ancillary mysteries, sometimes the most complex things are human relationships.  Sometimes, one may be comfortable, happy, and involved but still maintain an interest in new experiences and adventures.  After all, as far as we know there is not real evidence that this is anything except our only go-round in this universe.  Please pardon my approach, I will leave you to your LTR and  matter of life, love, death, God, and immortality.

[14:57] jm_87109: correct.  I did notice that you were involved, and realized that meant it unlikely you would be interested, and if not its ok.  Your profile indicates you are a person of thought, and i seek someone articulate -- for me attraction, even in the context of the physical, is SO mental.  So, thanks for the compliment in my response!  And, thanks for not being offended by my advance, even turning it down.  I am new on here (joined last week) and need to do a profile -- I hope it can be as good as yours.
[15:00] the_spectatrix: My profile on Yahoo is only as complete as it is due to me having the account for several years.  I too am attracted more to mental prowess than pure physicality.  But alas, I am enganged and am not much interested in having relationships in addition to the one I am already in.
[15:04] jm_87109: I'm going to work on a profile.  Part of why I have not yet is that I also am taken (married happily, as in do not want to get divorced, but with a yearning for a secret friend to share mind/body).  I miss the creative/inquisitive nature of new friendships, particularly those that share physical things because that in turn makes the mind more open to the other's thoughts, however normally private.  Of course, I do not want to jeopardize someone's happiness, and I realize it will have issues in today's expectation-of-monogamy society.  So, I wish you were open to the idea because you seem (from the neck up so far) like what I would love to find.  But, I understand and being engaged is more than just a LTR.
[15:09] the_spectatrix: It is sad that polyamorous relationships are so looked down on in our society.  Though I prefer monoamorous ones, I know that poly relationships can be very fullfilling.
[15:13] jm_87109: yes, and I think that we tend to incorporate society's rules into our own head -- I have done that myself for many years.  And, although monoamorous (great word, much better than monogamous) can be wonderful and fulfilling, it is necessarily mundane in that it prohibits new experiences, which of course can be so sensual and arousing.  So, I want to try and see if I may find a partner (not multi-partners, because then it would begin to become strictly physical) to share my sexuality and my thoughts/ideas.  Who knows if it can work, Christine?  I think it could be very fulfilling as long as it is secret and other persons are not hurt.

[15:14] jm_87109: that may be true I guess.  Maybe I will find that out and just repress my desires for such a friend,\
[15:15] jm_87109: im actually quite monoamourous generally!  lol, as we speak (and really enjoying talking to you, by the way) I am searching Ebay for a specific stuffed duck my daughter wants -- lol!

[15:20] the_spectatrix: Even if I myself desired an additional relationship, I would have to refuse.  I'm afraid that I find secret relationships a bit disconcerting.  Exciting they might be, yes, but I would consider it an unforgiveable betrayal of trust for you to go behind your wife's back like that.
[15:21] the_spectatrix: But I perhaps have an unusual perspective on such things because I know that my fiance would not object to me having another relationship.
[15:22] the_spectatrix: There is little to be gained by secrecy except the trill of doing something forbidden.

[15:23] jm_87109: ok, I understand -- and you are lucky that he would not mind that.  My wife would not have minded before we were married, and I have not asked.  But it is really my loss, because were it not for my situation you might be interested.  And, the fact that I would not want the relationship open has as much to do with my kids (2 small ones).  You are lucky, and if he is willing you should pursue it while you can.  That permission might wane later!
