So any of yall use this ISP? I've been seeing the commercials. Anyways, I need DSL but I cannot do contracts because I leave in May. I've been stealing DSL from this guy at my apartments and I'm positive he put a password last night. Xanadoo is 149.00 for the Laptop modem, but with rebates it comes down to 49.00. I already have a wireless card though but Im sure getting the Xanadoo is required. The laptop plan starts at 29.00 a month which is what I'm eyeing. My question is..is this a good deal?
http://www.xanadoo.com - link since it seems to be causing so much confusion This post has been edited by zetec: Feb 24 2006, 04:01 PM |

xanadoo is not dsl, it's not cable, and it's not 802.11 wifi. you're laptop doesn't support it, you WILL need their hardware.
xanadoo is a completely wireless service. I don't know the specifics, as i'm not in lubbock and don't care all that much, but it sounds like EV-DO or something similar. Just because something is wireless doesn't mean it's compatible with everything. Your cordless phone is wireless, hell, it probably even operates on the same 2.4ghz spectrum that your wireless network does. do they work together? no. different protocalls. dammit people learn what wireless really is. edit: they didn't really wanna say what spec they are using, but it would appear to be 802.16e, aka WiMax This post has been edited by zetec: Feb 24 2006, 04:03 PM -------------------- WAIT.
