ok girls, whats your routine with your hair? how often do you wash it, do you condition, etc? ive heard it bad to wash it every day because some of the natural oils are actually good for you.
i usually wash mine every 2 to 3 days. by the third day i usually wear it up because its lost its shine. then my routine is as follows: 1. wash with shampoo then rinse 2. condition, then shave my legs while the conditioner is still in to give it time to really be absorbed 3. rinse until its ALMOST gone (leaving that little bit in helps keep it moisturized since my hair is so used to houston humidity) 4. towel dry by squeezing, not rubbing 5. comb in some leave-in conditioner spray 6. get dressed and let it air dry about 90% of the way 7. blow dry 8. straightening iron just enough so that some of the volume (i have thick hair) dies down and i dont look like i stuck my finger in an electrical socket i think the key is letting the conditioner be absorbed, as well as letting it mostly naturally dry. the times when im running late or dont have time to wait for it to dry, i always feel less happy with the results because all that heat over the time it takes to completely dry it really fries my hair. i also dont let it dry all the way because it dries neither curly nor straight, kind of this bad wavy bumpy thing (even if i comb it out first). then i wind up ironing it way too much which again makes my hair fried. -------------------- Forget regret

I have super thick hair too. Only differences are I dont put in leave in conditioner and I dont blow dry my hair at all because ill have an afro if I do. I use this really cool stuff by dove called Straight and Soft: Sleek Styling Cream because it helps weigh my hair down even more after i straighten it. I cant wash my hair everyday or every other day. It would make my hair too dry. I wash every 3rd day. I also dont have a flat iron so I have to use a cheap curling iron to straighten my hair |
