I've been really psyched about going to the gym lately, but I need some ideas on how to supplement my workouts without completely killing myself. My current program has alternating workouts, as follows:
A: 5x5 squats, 5x5 bench press, 5x5 rows B: 5x5 squats, 5x5 overhead press, 1x5 deadlifts Weight ideally increases by 5 lbs each time, but sometimes I'll stall... no biggie, really. Anyways, those workouts are too intense to do on sequential days, it's more of an every-other-day thing (3x a week, effectively). What I need is some ideas on stuff to do on in-between days. Cardio is an option, though I really love strength training. Any thoughts? -------------------- |

It probably didn't help that I did about 15 min on the elliptical beforehand. Cardio AFTER strength training... lol.
Did stronglifts 5x5 + 20 min elliptical today. Switched to box squats to force myself to do deeper squats (I've been cheating myself on depth). And I think I'm going to try out renegade rows on my next 5x5... any experience with those? -------------------- |
