Looks Like Gov. Perry is Setting Up for a Presidential Run... Options

It seems like Perry is doing a lot lately to get the spotlight on him and to provide a strong counter to Obama's policies. No official announcement yet of course, but let's say I wouldn't be surprised...

I first had my initial suspicion when he denied the federal funding for unemployment aid, but now with this, "Keep Washington out of Texas" bill, he looks like he is really trying hard to move up on the Republican ranks. Who knows, maybe he is just trying to retain his govern position in the next election against Hutchinson. *shrug*

So what do the Repubs think about a possible President Perry?

sounds to me that cmac doesn't hate texas, but that he hates how he can't relate to us. i'm not saying this in a cocky asshole fashion, because i don't denounce anything he said in his last post. (except the dualie pipes on your truck... i see that on rare occasions, and i can't help but comment on how small the drivers dick must be).

he sees us as loud, obnoxious, cocky and gun-toting. i know for sure i fit that bill, and i know that most of my friends do as well. but he's failing to understand how we feel about people like him. the cowardly, snivelling, snide remarking, "i'm superior because i care about the enviroment, and i'm sure the government will protect me" hippies. when said like that, it's definately more hurtful than what i mean, but it matches exactly how we stereotypically see people like cmac.

the probelm i see it is that the people like cmac and us "texas stereotypes" have one very similar flaw. we are not accepting of others different from us. we can't relate, so we hate each other.

i agree. the thing is, i am understanding. i lived there for 25 years. you kinda have to be. i grew up in a small town with 1000 people. there were 8 democrat votes in the last presidential election. i've been around that type of person my whole life. so maybe i'm acting out. who knows.
it's fine that people are different. that's why i chose to move.
and if you met me, i'm about the furthest thing from a hippie you'd ever see. i just like the outdoors in a much different way than killing deer.
