They're going to vote on putting a resolution through to impose a 90% (yes, nine zero) on the AIG bonuses. This is absolutely preposterous, and turning to socialism at its finest.

President Barack Obama, who took office just under two months ago, told reporters Wednesday that his administration was not responsible for a lack of federal supervision of AIG that preceded the company’s demise. But Obama added, “The buck stops with me.” Obama said his administration was consulting with Congress on creating a new “resolution authority” to seize giant institutions like AIG — including all their toxic assets — whose collapse in normal bankruptcy could cause calamity in the financial markets.

So, not only does he say he's not responsible for the bill he signed, but feels he's justified in creating a new bureaucratic structure for the purpose of seizing private institutions!??! This sets a precedent for our democrat pres/congress combo that scares the hell outta me. What are they gonna do next? Tax the EIB network for everything they've got so they can shut down Rush Limbaugh?

this entire fucking thing was blown entirley out of proportion.

bonus' are taxed at the highest federal income tax level when paid out, which is %37 currently. State income taxes are then added onto that.

So, even with existing laws, roughly half of what was paid out as bonus money was ALREADY going back to the federal government.

Do you honestly think the people getting these bonus' were going to get anything back on their taxes this year? Of course they weren't.

So now, they want to tax the bonus' paid out by certain companies at %90.

Now, the bailouts being a complete fuckup idea nowithstanding, this *IS* communism. The government is targeting specific COMPANIES and telling them how to run their business, and making a political scam out of it to save face with the public ....

Do you honestly believe it never came up in congressional debate that the federal money might be used to pay out contracts to employees? Oh wait, it probably didn't because NOBODY FUCKING READ IT BEFORE THEY SIGNED IT, and Chriss Dodd, the wonderful liberal scumfucker that he is, put language in the bill allowing contracts (read bonus') to be paid out.....Then he tried to blame it on Obama?

This whole thing is such a complete clusterfuck on so many levels it's staggering, but employees expecting their employer to make good on a contract is the LEAST of such things people should be worried about here.

This is the typical knee-jerk feel-good media bullshit and a bunch of scmufuckers in washington trying to save face on their colossal fuckups.
