Dallas Academy has eight girls on its varsity team and about 20 girls in its high school. It is winless over the last four seasons. The academy boasts of its small class sizes and specializes in teaching students struggling with "learning differences," such as short attention spans or dyslexia.

ummm scoring 100 points on a "special needs" school is pretty lame. especially (according to the article) considering they were still going for 3 pointers up to the end, just to get 100.

but regardless the coach was fired from the winning school
not for winning, but for sending a letter that said he disapproved of the school having to apologize,

ok....i get that one, but shouldn't there some sort of regulations even in TAPPS that could prevent some poor "differently abled" athletes from being placed in these sorts of positions ....granted dyslexia is an issue that many MANY atheletes have to deal with and are successful with....not that dyslexia or ADHD arent serious (hell i see it every day in my classes and it messes with some kids pretty bad), but if it were some issues of mental retardation or something i could be a bit more sympathetic.

maybe the no mercy rule should be seriously looked at by TAPPS if they dont want to hurt anyones feelings too much....



on a side note....what about the girls who won? who only did as their coaches told them? they did nothing wrong but played at their best and followed the instructions given by a coach (who either should or shouldn't have known better)....where are their tickets to mavricks games?
