I guess the most interesting point from this would be that by letting the big 3 tank, it allows for more capitalistic competition. That companies like Toyota or Honda are doing well because of the capitalist nature, but the irony is that these companies are nationalistic in nature. -------------------- I go to the maize and blue

The argument that letting the big 3 fail creates more capitalistic competition is a little off because by letting something fail simply means letting the free market define the conditions, not necessarily that the market is competitive. GM and Ford are run more efficiently than Chrysler and a lot of analysts think that Chrysler should be allowed to fail because of such poor management. Would letting the big 3 fail reshape our infrastructure? I don't think so. We are engrained in driving ourselves places and there is not a desire to be like Europe. In fact, it's highly unlikely that a European system could work here in the States.
