Honestly, I'd be all for it being a forbidden word in my classroom, too. Too much of my class time is wasted when students try to talk politics. I wouldn't mind if I were teaching a content that was effected by politics, but math is the universal truth and is not concerned with who's running what countries.

Students shouldn't be interrupting class at all, and should only ask questions relevant to the discussion(s) at hand (mathematics related in your case, correct?). But to outright ban the NAME of the President-elect from being spoken, even in passing, is absolutely despicable regardless of political affiliation. -------------------- |

Students shouldn't be interrupting class at all, and should only ask questions relevant to the discussion(s) at hand (mathematics related in your case, correct?). So if the students were talking about Tom Greene or any other Hollywood whacko as much it would be the same thing, right?
