When my brother was like 3 years old, he wanted to be called a girl's name and liked the color pink a lot, and other stuff like that. A lot of young boys go through this phase if they grow up in a predominately female household. Come 5 years old, though, he was hitting on high school girls. The kid is now 15 and LOVES the ladies.

I think this kid is an only child. One thing they focused on was that he didn't like the male parts of his body and that he really like the mermaid for it's sexlessness (to some degree).
