Gall bladder issues Options

Has anyone here or know of anyone who has had problems with their gall bladder? According to the er doctor it's not squeezing properly, I'm suppose to go see a specialist, but that's not till next month. They put me on this low fat diet which really sucks, cuz I probably shouldn't be on a diet and it's a diet I can't "cheat" on since I'll have a fairly immediate repercussion the night of. Anyway, does anyone know how long this diet will last, and if I can ever go back to a "normal" diet (I miss fat ). And if they take my gall bladder out, will I be able to eat like normal again (since the gall bladder helps the stomach process fat, without it, what's processing the fat?)

My mom had her gallbladder taken out a few years ago and she still gets pretty sick to her stomach if she has a big meal.

The biggest complaint of pain after the surgery is back pain. These days, they do the surgery laproscopically (sp... too lazy) by I believe 4 small incisions, one of which is in your belly button. They inflate your belly with carbon dioxide. After the surgery, that carbon dioxide is released into your muscles causing you to be pretty achy. The incision sites aren't so painful. Just have an upset stomach for a while every time you eat and back pain for about 72 hours. That's just some information on the surgery.

And Christine, I've thrown up bile before too. In fact, did it every day for almost 3 weeks straight. My god, it sucks. It's so gross tasting and burns the throat.
