McCain's VP, who's it gonna be? Options

I say Romney gets it, but the other talk is about Pawlenty and Lieberman, with some rumors a few days ago about Hutchison (Texan Senator). I bet it's all just talk to get things riled up and to get attention away from Obama though.

U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, told several hundred county officials today in Austin that she won't be Sen. John McCain's running mate.

"I do not have a plane ticket to Ohio tomorrow," said Hutchison to applause and laughter at a meeting of the Texas Association of Counties.

She paused, and said, "Austin, however..." and paused again, to more applause and laughter.

Hutchison later told reporters after her speech, "I've not been asked to be the running mate, that's correct," she said.

She adding that she was "very much" honored to be the subject of speculation.

She said she was told McCain had decided on a running mate, but McCain told a radio station this morning that he was waiting for his wife, Cindy, to return from overseas before making his final decision.

Asked about running for governor in 2010, the senator said she wants to help Republicans get through the 2008 elections before making any announcements about her political future.

She has said that she doesn't intend to complete her Senate term, which expires in 2012.
