Define "alcohol problem" Options

Person 1: Drinks nearly every night. Drinks heavily on the weekend, has a few beers during the weeknights, but never drinks and drives and never acts any differently than he does when sober

Person 2: Only drinks about three nights a week. Spends the rest of the week eating healthy and working out. When he does drink, he gets smashed and acts like an arrogant jackass, picking on people, starting shit with people at the bar, and just generally acting like a complete douche. Also drives drunk and rarely remembers it. Doesn't remember anything the next morning.

Who would you consider has more of an alcohol problem? Remember in terms of total alcohol consumed, #1 drinks far more alcohol in a given week than #2

It'd take awhile to explain. I always thought 1 had a worse drinking problem than 2 because he'd get off work every night and immediately have a beer while me and 2 were working out or running. He'd drink more often than us. Even though I have no problem with someone drinking as often as they please as long as it doesn't affect their work or chores, I admired 2 for taking it easy during the week and celebrating on the weekends. Even if you get too wasted on weekend nights, it's not like you got shit to do the next day (and trust me, he doesn't help out around the house at all)

Then I realized how 2 acts when he gets really drunk. Part has to do with his diet and the fact he won't drink beer, so he drinks cranberry and vodka all night. I don't care about how little you mix, liquor will always hit you harder than booze. He acts like an utter dipshit. He comes home and eats all our food, and uses the excuse he doesn't remember. He treats girls like shit. He picks fights with people. He runs his mouth to our friends and ends up with a black eye. Etc etc. Never cared because it never affected me. He ate my food once then learned his lesson the next time when I cooked sausage and used one of those black death XXX 100000 scoville hot sauces as baste. He learned real quick not to eat my food.

Last week I met up with my friend at Fowler's and both of em were up there. I only stayed 15 minutes or so but found out the next day that 2 was picking on my friend and punching him for no reason. Just being a typical frat arrogant douche. Of course, 1 had to apologize to everyone and keep him in line from doing any stupid shit. He picked on him cause my friend is small and looks a bit odd. Partially due to the fact that he has a terminal disease that took away most of his muscle mass. He was just picking on him to be a jackass. Anyways I apologized to my friend the next day and told him if 2 started shit with him again I had his back. I don't care if I live with the guy or not.

Last night I fell asleep at like 1130. Got woken up at 12:45 by 2, hammered, texting me saying he was gonna kick my ass for getting in the middle of it. I told him to fuck off and not start shit with my friends. Blah Blah Blah, he had no idea what he'd done the last time as usual. Finally fell back asleep at 130. Fifteen minutes later I get woken up by them stumbling in loud as hell. He tried to knock my door down to start shit, I told him it was the middle of the night and if he wants to start something tomorrow he knows where to find me. Of course he probably won't remember any of this today buy whatever. Oh and then he woke me up again at 6 being loud getting ready for work. I'm going on 4 hours of sleep and I got in bed before 11. He was picking on everyone last night, even some dude in a fucking wheelchair. About a dozen people wanted to kick his ass. Me and Jarrod are tired of babysitting him and apologizing. Next time, we'll just let him run his mouth till someone beats the shit out of him. It's embarrassing.

Both of them drink too often and too much. But if you're 25 and still acting like a dumbshit when you drink, you have a drinking problem. I can write off a freshman doing that due to inexperience, but someone who's out of college and has a $50k/year job? Ridiculous
