Things are getting really ugly, really quick.
United has reduced capacity, is cutting staff, and is killing of their low-cost carrier TED. US Airways has not fulfilled its order for two planes that could fly their new route to China, so they'll lose the route and they're reducing capacity. The Delta/Northwest Merger isn't complete yet, so who knows the outcome. Continental announced this morning that they are reducing capacity and cutting some staffing. ExpressJet (who Continental employs to fly their little jets) is on the verge of Ch11. Southwest has raised fares considerably. JetBlue has cut a number of routes. AA is nickel and diming customers to make up the costs. yikes. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

The problem arises when you can't disprove any of the arguments against your original post. You obviously know NOTHING about the airline industry based on your initial post today.
Really the prices that have risen at the grocery store are bread prices. Everything else is just a few cents here and a few cents there. I went shopping yesterday and got everything I needed for under $5. I thought it was going to be closer to $8. Bread is expensive but there is a worldwide shortage of wheat or some shit that is driving prices up. Corn can be pricey because of its use as an alternative fuel. It also doesn't help that there was mass flooding in the Midwest where we get a lot of our corn and wheat crop from. (Again, are you gonna blame the government for the floods in Iowa?) I can still get a bag of boneless chicken breast for under $10, the same price it was last year. I can still buy cake mix for $.99. I mean, I more notice prices changing at fast food restaurants. My husband and I decided to boycott McDonalds for a while since their prices are going through the roof. It's the same price for us to eat at Chick Fil A now. And seriously, if you didn't vote for the guy because he isn't in your district, why even bitch about it? Citizens do have a right to petition a law to go to vote or petition to have a government official removed from office. People are lazy. I blame people. That, and we live in such a bipartisan country that it's very rare that both Republicans AND Democrats have an equal distaste for an official. It's kinda necessary to have the support of both sides when working to remove someone from office. Besides, I see what he did as a typical Republican move. Plus, it's not always four years. Senators serve 6 year terms I believe. Some officials only serve 2 year terms. Just thought I would add that since your rant is mostly nonsense anyway. You certainly have been having awfully liberally slanted/non-conservative viewpoints lately. He's not the only one to notice it...hence why I said you were acting somewhat like an anarchist. |
